Rebecca’s project is a literary historical novel with a hagiographic tilt. Her work explores redemption, as well as salvation from oneself in relation to chronic illness. Death is a large theme within the work, overlapping with questions around humanity, faith and inner peace. We all want to have a ‘good’ death, but what do we define as good? When is sacrifice noble and how do we equate suffering with worthiness?
