Ellie Dimambro-Denson

I am a field researcher for a large-scale habitat restoration project in the Cairngorms and spend my free time working on various creative projects and hill walking. In 2019, I suddenly lost my Dad at the age of 23 and I began to write as a way to navigate grief.
I am working on a series of short pieces, each on a different theme within the landscape to interweave the processing of death and grief within place, while asking questions of what it is to live well through the companionship of being within and of the natural world. The project will bring together stands of journal reflections and ventures alone in the hills in the time since my Dad’s death, looking at what it is to be, and to live, and to love, and to pay attention through the lens death brings.
