Dr Naomi Richards 


Dr Naomi Richards co-leads the DeathWrites Research Network. She is also Director of the End of Life Studies Group at the University of Glasgow, an interdisciplinary (mostly social sciences and arts and humanities) research and teaching hub with a strong international reputation for bringing critical perspective to end of life issues.

She is a social anthropologist, and she currently researches socio-economic inequities in palliative care, assisted dying, old age rational suicide, the concept of 'total pain', and visual representations of dying. She is very passionate about her role as a death educator, teaching multiple courses on the End of Life Studies Programme (PGCert, PGDip, MSc).
