Anstey Harris (Spraggan)

Anstey Harris lives in Dumfries & Galloway where she runs a writing retreat. In 2015, she won the H G Wells Short Story competition, & her novel, The Truths & Triumphs of Grace Atherton, was a Richard & Judy summer pick for 2019. She is working on her 4th novel.
The project I am working on is set in the world of conjurors, but is about everyday relationships. At the centre of the novel is an old man, Lucky Luciano, in that liminal stage of life where he slips to and from reality and dreams. Decades before, Lucky made a decision that affected the careers of two young magicians – Pip & Al, who he thought of as his own children - & that decision turned out to be wrong. As he lies dying, the secrets tumble out & Pip has to decide whether she will forgive him in this life.
